Solution: Follow instructions |
1. Driver
Download following driver:
http://www.manhattan-support.com/drivers/205146_pl2303_v20011_v20024.zip
Then you have to unzip the driver into a folder on your harddrive, i.E.
c:\205146
2. Delete faulty components from the device manager
Open the device manager and locate the "?USB DEVICE". Select it and delete
it from the list. Unplug the USB to RS232 adapter.
3. Reboot your computer
Do not connect the adapter at this time.
4. Installation of 205146
After the reboot you can re-connect
the adapter to an USB port. The hardware wizard will show up and ask you
how you want to proceed. Select "automatically
locate ..." here. In the next screen specify the driver location, i.E.
c:\205146.
Click on <next> and the installation will take place.
5. Settings in the device manager.
Once the adapter is installed, it will show up in
the device manager under COM and LPT devices. The adapters properties
dialog, port settings lets you specify options for the new COM
port, i.E. Data Transmission Rate, Data Bits, Flow Control and so
on.
