External Enclosure: No drive letter after installation (3)
The Enclosure has been installed correctly as USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE. However, after the installation there is no new drive letter showing up in Windows Explorer. The HDD inside the enclosure is new and unformatted, the operating system is Windows 98 or Windows Me.
Solution:
The HDD inside the enclosure needs to be partitioned first.
Under Windows 98/Me you need to use the Windows Utility "FDISK" which needs to be run from the DOS Command line.
